The 5th International Microsystems, Packaging, Assembly and Circuits Technology (IMPACT 2010) is collaboratively organized by IEEE, CPMT-Taipei, ITRI, IMAPS-Taiwan, NTHU, SIPO, TPCA and co-organizers are CALCE, iNEMI, TTMA, ISU and TAIWAN PCB INSTITUTE which was taken place in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center during October 20 to 22, 2010. For appreciating all participants actively join this conference, organizers hold an opening ceremony at R504. At first, Chair of IMPACT Conference 2010, Mr. Kuo-Ning Chiang expressed many thanks to everyone's help which make this Conference growing bigger and strong. IMPACT Conference 2010 and International 3D IC Conference had accepted 210 papers which showed great influence of IMPACT conference in the international fields. Besides, to appreciate the efforts from all sponsors to proceed IMPACT conference successfully, the chair of IMPACT conference awarded in contribution of sponsors in the special moment. One thing to be mentioned is that in order to encourage paper submission overseas, IMPACT awarded the award for paper submission from farthest area to Chris Bailey from UK University of Greenwich. It also showed the great influences of IMPACT conference.

IMPACT conference 2010 invited the extraordinary opening ceremony speaker who is the elites of chip interconnection technologies and also the President of IEEE-CPMT board - Dr. Rolf Aschenbrenner and he delivered the speech "State-of-the-art of Heterogeneous System Integration". Also, the dean of Engineering, CUHK - Dr. C. P. Wong used his Nano-functional material syntheses background to introduce「Nano Materials for Electronic and Phtonic Packaging」and he made penetrating speech on nano materials. Besides, the senior director of TSMC - Dr. Douglas C.H. Yu gave the speech "Interconnection- Its Trend, Challenges and Opportunities"; he expressed his own perspectives on industry dynamic. The opening speeches were given rapturous respond by participants and uncovered the grand conference opening officially.
